Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived to a musical family 9 August 1993 in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is the daughter and cousin of the singer Dionne. In Newark, Whitney began singing in the church choir in the early years of her childhood. At the age 15 she joined her mother in singing background vocals on Chaka's hit Im Every Woman from 1978. In 1981, she worked as a fashion model and also appeared on the Seventeen album cover. She also provided back vocals for Lou Rawls and Jermaine. Beginning in 1981, she started to work as a vocalist in the New York funk group Material. Her excellent vocals of this group that attracted the attention of record labels including Arista. Whitney Houston, her debut album, released in 1985 was the top-selling album of the debut artist. Songs like The Greatest Love of All, How Can I Tell If You Give Good Love, and Saving All My Love were all released on the album. The songs helped Houston to achieve seven US top tens which were higher than even those of The Beatles. It was the initial US year, the album was has sold in excess of 3 million units. It went on to be bought by over more than 25 million worldwide and earned her the first Grammy. The Whitney follow-up in 1987 with the singles Where Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to expand on the popularity of her debut album. But it was it was the 1992 film The Bodyguard that solidified her standing as one of the most popular performers. The movie and her role as a character was not appreciated, but the music and her interpretation of the song by Dolly Parton I Will Always Love You were charting for months at the top of the charts. In all, she sold over 44 million albums and singles worldwide. The same year, she married Bobby Brown who was a former New Edition singer. She was the sole daughter of Bobby and Bobbi Kristina Brown. They were married on March 23, 1993. Around this time, her drug abuse became well documented and she was able to use it regularly until 1996.
Dana Bash is also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz and she is employed by CNN as anchorwoman, reporter as well as a political correspondent. In the past, she has produced shows for the network such as Evans & Novak' Late Editionand Inside Politics'. Bash was awarded many times, including a place on the Women in Washington Power List from Elle magazine.
